Time flies when your having fun!

It's about that time again, another eventful month in the Sarson household has passed since I last posted, not sure where most of April went?

The last four weeks has seen a new all time record of visits to the vet's. It's been twice a week for blood-sugar tests plus the odd call to sort out an infected leg joint. I reckon Sky could go on her own if you opened the back gate. The week just gone was the first vet-free week since Sky was first diagnosed with diabetes and that came close to being breached when her leg was playing up again. She has an infection and she wont stop licking the hole that has appeared on her elbow joint. The vets are quite relaxed about it but it may yet need a stitch to sort it out.

We have bought a soft inflatable collar for her to wear and it largely does the trick, much better than those plastic cones, although we do take it off now and agin to give her a break. Anyway it's slowly healing and the bloods seem to be under control and hopefully things will settle down soon.

Through all of this Sky has been brilliant, she's a brave little soul and has lost none of her character.

Elsewhere Suzy's sister Debby came up to see us at Easter, first time we had seen her since xmas and she brought her new camera with her so it was back to the photography teaching mode for a couple of days.

Debby is going abroad for a month and going to Machu Picchu and wanted a decent camera, after some research we got a great deal on a Canon body, a decent zoom lens and away we went. We took lots of photos and struck lucky when we went out to do some low light stuff only to bump into a firework display. We got some great shots and then wandered around Southport Pleasureland and had a go at some time exposures. All in all I think it was a success and hopefully she will come back from her hols with some nice shots.

I have added a few photos to the website but as yet not added any content to them. I have been trying to find out some history on the Old Court House, it was used during an episode of Peaky Blinders which i'm following so i was curious as to why they chose that location. I don't even thinks its that old compared to some of the town. It was sold not that long ago and is now home to a marketing company.

I have also been seeking information on the Temperance Hall, its just opposite the train station which is on Chapel Street. Again little information is available but i'm working on it.

With the Grand National being run in April it's always a special time in Southport. Red Rum was trained on Aughton Road behind McCains Car Sales and was trained by Ginger McCain on Birkdale sands. I've been looking at some old photos of him on the beach, the very place we walk the dogs on a regular basis. I'm definitely going to get a photo framed for the office.

Well hopefully next month we get to spend some time in the garden, we have planted some potatoes already and about to go into the world of tomatoes. Suzy fancies having a go at some tommies in tubs so just waiting for the last frost to bugger off.

We have purchased a pressure washer and the yard is looking all clean and bright but still lots to do out the front. That will be happening during May along with getting my bike out of the shed and getting back in the saddle, its been a long time since I went for a ride and Southport is just too lovely to ignore for much longer.
