Exciting times, but it won't last long!

Well Christmas is nearly upon us and i'm not sure where the first half of this month has gone! It seems only yesterday I was thinking about Alice's birthday on the 15th and now its been and gone! Next stop Christmas but just time before that to toddle off down to Leicester to see the family on Monday.

On the home front its been a bit manic for some reason, both Suzy and I have been chasing about for one thing and another could both do with a nice rest. Not much chance of that really at this time of year, I'm in the Racing business which means a couple of days off and Suzy works in the Supermarket trade, which means about the same!

Friends of ours have given us the nod for a nice place in Scotland that accommodates multiple dogs as well as humans. It's looks ideal and not that expensive so we are seriously thinking about booking a week away. It's just over the border near Dumfries so its about 150 miles from Southport, not too far for the dogs to travel. Need to check it has internet access as I need to do a bit on the keyboard!

The Dogs are doing well, we have slightly changed routines as Shadow was becoming an nightmare to walk with Sky twice a day. I take them in the morning somewhere quiet and Suzy has been giving Shad a little stroll on his own at night. The other two 'Black & Tans' as we call them are no trouble together.

I have been taking Sky with Frankie on a couple of occasions which has been a nice change. Both are so laid-back its ridiculous and i've took advantage of that and walked them around Hesketh Park which is a lovely place but full of dogs so you need a well behaved walking companion to make it work.

Frankie is amazing considering we have only had him 6 weeks, just think two months ago he was loose roaming the streets of Romania. As we speak he is full stretch on the sofa behind me in the office, and he wont budge until morning. He's welcome to it for as long as he wants.

Despite being busy i've still made time to snap a few new pictures for the site. I've been down to Ainsdale to shoot the Station and also paid a visit to Pontins Holiday Centre and Toad Hall while I was there.

I have been doing some research on the Railways which led me to Ainsdale, long story cut short, Ainsdale and Birkdale had other stations apart from those surviving today at one time and plan to tell the story. Birkdale Palace had its own station and during the war it was used by the American soldiers. It was still used until 1952 but the Palace lasted a bit longer and was used in a film set in 1968, the film was 'Whats Good For The Goose' starring Norman Wisdom no less!

Talking of photo's, I had a nice surprise last week when another one of my images was used in the Southport Visiter. It was one i took of the 'Southport Eye' during Spookport at Halloween. (Shown above) It's funny that as the 'Eye' disappeared overnight after the Halloween celebrations so it was lucky I took the photo when I did. The pleasure-land looks weird now with out it on the skyline, you could even see it from Lytham in one of my photos'.

Anyway must go, lets see what Santa brings to those of us that have been good? Soon be January and back to normal!
