A year to remember!
We moved to Southport in November 2015 and it seems like we have been here all our lives. The Hamilton estate in Leicester is a very distant memory and I can't think of one day when I have regretted the move.
Yes sure it's not ideal being so far away from family but at the same time it's just two and half hours down the Motorway. On the plus side Dad loves his holidays to Southport!
When we first came here it seemed to rain for the first month and I reckon history is repeating itself as it's been very wet this month so far. No snow yet and it hasn't stopped us walking on the beach!
On the Dog front our visitor from Romania has had his first experience of UK Vets. We took Frankie along to meet our vet Owen as we wanted to get his leg checked out and to weigh him for the first time. He clocked in at just over 39kg's which was a bit of a surprise, we both guessed around 35kg. It just shows how solid he is.
Owen said he was in good nick for a street dog and gave us something for his limp. All in all it went very well, Frankie met loads of dogs, nearly all youngsters funny enough and he really is as laid back as they come. He never barks, shows no aggression and is a happy chappy.
The website has seen a gear change this week, i have added text to the first half a dozen buildings and also decided to add a new menu item. Recently i have been reading about the various transport links to Southport and indeed within the town itself and have decided to devote a separate section to the Planes, Trains and .......... Buses.
When adding the details about the buildings I have decided to put down the official descriptions from various sources and then just add a comment box with my views if any on the subject. These then can be revisited over time and extra photos added too.
Not much on the agenda until Christmas, still not sure what we are doing yet for the big day. I will be going down to Leicester at some stage to see the family but no big days out planned apart from a Katie Melua concert in Liverpool next week.
I gave up going racing when they decided we couldn't use 'good' cameras to take photos of the horses. Apparently it's ok to stick a mobile under their noses and take a crap photo but not to capture something in focus and not blurred! The world has gone mad and i'm not playing.
