50 Down...2 To Go

I eventually got round to making a list of 'Churches To Do' not the everyday list you make i know but one that had to be done. Anyway i had about a dozen left so went out on a mission so to speak, and got what i thought was all of them but one which was the Grace Church in town. No parking there so was going to photograph that one next time i was in the area.

Turns out i had missed the Sacred Heart RC in Ainsdale, this Church has the same post code as the St John Stone Church so mistakenly thought it was the same place. It's two different buildings run by the, and i quote; The Augustinian Community whose priory is in St John Stone’s Parish, Woodvale, serves Sacred Heart Parish.

I know where it is and will pick it up later this week and then get down to adding some detail to the images. That will be the fun part, learning all the background to these lovely buildings (well some of them).

It's all happening here in Southport, if you caught my last post you will know we have just had the Air Show which quickly followed the Flower Show. Last Sat/Sunday we had the 24 hour Yacht race and the next big event is the British Fireworks Competition. Apparently is last for 3 days in Victoria Park and the bangers go off to music! Well i'm up for some Firework photos so will be sorting out a good spot to catch them and reaquainting myself with my old techniques. Can be very tricky and a lot of luck is needed to shoot the right image. Lets hope the sea breeze stays away!

I have been doing some research into the Churches that are no longer around and managed to grab a few photos off the internet. I'm struggling with the one on Chapel Street and cant find anything on the Duke Street Trinity church. Will pop down to the library and see if i can find anything there.
