And then there were four!
It's all been happening at Chez Sarson over the last week or so and the most notable event was the arrival of our first foster dog Sabre. He is an 11 year old GSD who was tossed out of his home when the previous owners decided he wasn't part of the latest house move.
It's no good moaning and going on about how i feel about these people as it won't make any difference, they have little conscience, if indeed any.
Anyway the old lad has settled in and been to the vets for a check up an he's fine apart from a little hard of hearing. We wondered why after 11 years he didn't seem know his name, we knew Sabre was his proper name as he came with a bag of tricks and that included an old prescription from years ago with his name on it.
He responds immediately to hand signals and touches and is a real nice dog to have around the place until we can find a suitable owner. Its our first attempt in the world of fostering dogs and the crunch will come when the time comes to let go. The other three have all took to him in their own inimitable way, Ben just thinks its a new toy, Shadow hasn't got a clue what to do and just hangs around while Sky just ignores him completely.
Me and Suzy have both been under the weather (and still are to a certain extent) so dog walking duties have changed. I now take Shadow and Sky and Suzy deals with the new inmate and Ben. I had a nasty infection on my arm which is now under control and Suzy badly inured her leg/thigh. She has the biggest bruise i have ever seen but carries on working and walking like the trooper she is.
We will be both be so glad to get back to normal and while this is all going on we are still continuing with the decorating. We have a new lounge door fitted, new skirting boards and the Cast Iron radiator is being fitted today (fingers crossed). Getting a plumber in Southport is like asking for gold, anyway he's supposed to be coming this morning.
I have been masking, painting, more masking, more painting!!! All wood work done now and we are on to the ceiling and walls next. The plan is to paint the wooden floorboards and have plantation shutters fitted by Christmas.
It was the Southport Flower Show last week, the town was chaotic so we stayed well out of it and we still found places to have a quiet walk. It amazes us how few people actually walk on the beach. I went down one night and took one or two photos for the website but they had bad luck with the weather overall.
Next big event is the Air Show in September, Dad is coming up for a few days and we hope to take in a football match as well that weekend, his beloved Coalville Town play Marine at Crosby so we will be going.
Coalville played at Skelmersdale on Tuesday and i went along to give my support, about 50 Coalville fans made the two-hour trip up the M6 and they were rewarded with a 2-1 victory.
