SOUTHPORT BRICKS
TSB Bank -1930
The building dates from the 1930’s and is classically designed in Portland stone, with a dark granite plinth and a two storey Ionic order colonnade with fluted columns and cantilevered pediment.
The building is one of four key corner buildings which form London Square, the primary civic space in Southport and focal point to Lord Street.
In 2009 it was successfully re-designed and incorporated a mezzanine floor within the former banking hall, and have converted the basement and ground floors to provide three levels of restaurant accommodation.
The Portland stone cills to the original windows have been removed and lowered to plinth level and new full height replacement windows to match the detail of the originals have been installed.
